The Healthy Everything Store: Moving a Traditional Business to E-Commerce

Our client is an importer and distributor of primarily slimming health supplements and anti-aging skin care. They initially started business some time ago with all the traditional retailers like Guardian, Watson’s, Sasa and John Little. However, this model proved to be too expensive for a small start-up, and so they were compelled to find other avenues for better streams of revenue.

This pivot included getting onto various e-commerce platforms, and building its own flagship website. The idea of the website was meant to sell the benefits of all these products that the client sold, not the technical details of each product, though important. Benefits are what drive consumers.

We positioned the brand as one that would help the client’s customers essentially live free - because in effect that’s what these products do. Customers buy them with the hopes that they would be free of weight issues, or aging issues. And they can therefore live life on their own terms.

In addition to positioning the brand and the store, we also developed the design and wrote the copy for each of the products. They were designed to show results, address common concerns, list key benefits, and where possible, provide social proof in terms of testimonials and media coverage for credibility.
